One of the hardest things about living abroad is not having access to your favorite foods from home. While living in Melbourne, there were times I really missed treats from the US. Now, don’t get me wrong. Food in Australia—especially Melbourne—is delicious. But every now and again, you just need a staple from home or a childhood favorite.
On a quest to find graham crackers to introduce my Aussie friends to S’mores, I discovered USAFoods in the southern suburbs of Melbourne. The store has a plethora of food and goods from the United States and sells them for a fair price. The shop sales a large variety of American snacks, chocolate, candy and beverages. And proper marshmallows, which are not easy to find in Australia. There are also bathroom, laundry, baking and cooking supplies. They even have some Mexican food.
USAFoods also sells holiday-themed party supplies like plates, cups and napkins. They have goodies for 4th of July, Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas. They also host holiday events. The store has an annual mega sale during the week of 4th of July. For Halloween, they have a Scary Box deal with a box packed full of Halloween goodies for a discounted price. During Christmas, USAFoods hosts a musical light show at the shop.
The store is located at 67-73 Cochranes Rd Moorabbin VIC 3189 and is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekdays, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturdays and 11 a.m to 3 p.m. on Sundays. To get a look at the full list of goodies at the store, visit the USAFoods website.
